Dante's Inferno on PS3 is a 2010 action-adventure hack-and-slash game developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for PlayStation 3 on February 9, 2010 in North America and February 12, 2010 in Europe. The game is a dark adaptation of part one of Dante Alighieri's epic poem The Divine Comedy, following Dante, a Templar knight who ventures into the nine circles of Hell to rescue his beloved Beatrice from Lucifer. Players wield the Death Scythe and Holy Cross as weapons, using them to punish or absolve the souls of the damned as they battle through the circles of Hell, each representing a different sin. The game features brutal combat, quick-time events, platforming, and puzzle-solving across visually stunning environments representing Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery. The PS3 version runs at 720p resolution and includes all the base campaign content.
