Assassin's Creed Rogue on PS3 is a 2014 third-person action-adventure stealth game developed by Ubisoft Sofia and published by Ubisoft. Set during the Seven Years' War from 1752 to 1760, the game follows Shay Patrick Cormac, a young Assassin who becomes disillusioned with the Order after witnessing their destructive actions during a mission in Lisbon that causes a devastating earthquake. After nearly dying and being saved by the Templars, Shay defects from the Assassin Brotherhood and becomes a Templar Assassin Hunter, hunting down his former brothers to stop them from using dangerous Precursor artifacts that could harm innocent people. The game features naval exploration in the North Atlantic and Caribbean, with Shay's ship the Morrigan as a primary hub for gameplay where you can upgrade and customize the vessel, hunt whales for resources, and engage in naval combat. The game includes the same core gameplay mechanics as Assassin's Creed Unity, featuring improved combat, stealth, exploration, and naval gameplay, and serves as a companion piece to Unity with storyline connections that reveal how the Templars obtained the Precursor box and Observatory key. It also includes a special mission allowing players to relive memories of Achilles, Shay's former Mentor, and discover why he never returned to the Caribbean after the Lisbon earthquake.
